Finally On The Road Again

And we’re off! After 3 months of being based in one place, we are finally hitting the road again.

We’ve been weekend warriors for a while but now we are off for some full-time adventures!

How long for, we haven’t decided yet. Even though this trip will certainly be shorter than 12 months, the same rule as before applies. We won’t make too many plans as then we have the flexibility to change our route if and as we want.

That said, anyone who has seen our YouTube videos or Instagram posts will know that we do have one aim this stint – to go to Scotland!

It was somewhere we had planned to go as part of our initial travels but we never made it before it was time to head back and swap vans. Then as we all know, COVID hit so everything completely changed.

Travelling this time is going to be so different in some respects but in others, it won’t really change at all. The beauty of being in a self contained Motorhome is that we are not relying on outside facilities.

We simply need somewhere to get LPG, empty waste and be able to top up with fresh water. Otherwise we don’t have to come in to contact with many people, not too dissimilar to before lockdown. We have always said we would rather try and be where the crowds aren’t!

Still shopping local

This doesn’t mean that we won’t still be visiting and shopping in towns, local shops and businesses though. That is one thing we still feel very strongly about. In fact we feel even more strongly now about it than we did before. So many places need support to help get them up and running again. Whilst we do understand that everyone needs to stay safe, we also see another side to this coin.

People’s livelihoods have been affected by what’s happened and if it’s safe to do so, where we can we need to be putting back in to the economy. 

We love sharing our travels with others and simply want to pass on some of the excitement. Ideally we want to give people something positive to think about. We can do this whilst still adhering to guidelines and staying sensible and safe. 

Our whole aim when we first started traveling was to discover what was on our doorstep. Not just in our home county but in our Country. We wanted to showcase the splendour of the UK and hopefully inspire them to become a tourist in their own country as well. This is still our goal.

With travel restrictions in place all over the world and staycations now the way forward, we’re hoping we can continue to show people just what’s on offer here and make the most of it.
